Sacred Dance

Open to children from 2nd through 12th grade. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:15 PM and the group participates in worship services approximately once a month.

There are three main goals of the music department at Second church:

  1. To glorify and praise God in worship
  2. To enrich worship with the sound of voice and instruments
  3. To assist the congregation in the learning of new songs for use in worship

Youth Chorale

Open to children in Kindergarten through 8th grade.  They rehearse Sunday mornings before the worship service and participate in worship about once a month.

Bell Choir

The handbell choir meets on Sunday mornings at 11:30 and participates in several worship services throughout the year.  The group is open to all members, ages high school and up.

Brass Ensemble

Open to brass players from middle school through adult.  The brass ensemble participates whenever hymns and special services call for the addition of brass, in four part harmony and descants.

Praise Group

Praise Group is a group of musicians formed to help lead the congregation in singing worship music in more of a contemporary genre. They meet for rehearsals and participate in worship services as needed.

Sanctuary Choir

Sanctuary Choir meets weekly September through May on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the music room, lower level.  They sing twice monthly, usually at the morning worship service and also take part during the seasons and services of Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Ascension, and Pentecost.  All members who are 16 years and older are invited to attend.

Men's Choir

Men’s Choir is an informal group that meets several times a year for rehearsals following the morning worship service at 11:30 a.m.  These short term commitments allow men of all ages who enjoy two and three part harmony to participate in worship.
