Worship & Engage

MANY WAYS TO ENGAGE WITH THE CHURCH
& THE COMMUNITY

Every part of the church body is important. God has given you unique talents and interests, and there’s a place to use them at Second CRC! We have programs and ministries for people of all ages.

Participate and Share Your Gifts

The more involved you are with fellow church members, the more connected you will feel. We encourage members to participate in worship services, and to have fun during the week with folks who share the same interests. If you would like more information about any of these opportunities to get involved with members from Second CRC, please contact us.

Participate in Worship

We encourage congregational members to participate in worship through reading, sharing and prayer. All ages welcome and encouraged to participate in whatever way you feel comfortable! (Contact us).

The Sanctuary Choir enriches worship periodically in the fall and spring. They typically rehearse two weeks before participating in a service, and focus on a classic choral repertoire. All voice parts welcome! (Check calendar for rehearsal dates and times)

The Praise Team leads the congregation in learning new music, and enriches services through varied styles of singing. New vocalists and instrumentalists are always welcome! (Contact us to learn more)

The Brass Ensemble participates in worship occasionally, bringing a rich and glorious sound to hymns. All brass players are welcome! (Contact us to get on the email list)

Our sound system and audio-visual equipment are important parts of worship. We use them on Sundays, but we also record our services for video- and audio-cast. We need people of all ages who have an interest in technology to run the soundboard, the PowerPoint display, and our cameras. (Contact us)

Join a Group

This group meets four times per year to have an informal discussion about notable novels. (Contact us)

We have a lot of knitters in this church! Beginners and experts alike come together twice per month to knit, to learn, and to socialize. (Check calendar)

Our hosts and hostesses are the smiling faces who serve coffee on Sunday mornings, help with bridal/baby showers, serve at funerals, and much more. We always welcome more volunteers! (Contact us)

If you’re looking to pick up tip and tricks, or just admire other green thumbs, please join the Garden Group on their tours. They visit gardens of church members and neighbors from May-September to enjoy God’s beautiful handiwork. (Check calendar)

Weather doesn’t stop this group! Stay fit and make friends while you exercise, using videos, games, and the old-fashioned sidewalk. (Check calendar)

This prayer time focuses on praise and prayer concerns for our church family. The group meets on Tuesday mornings at church. (Check calendar)

The Atrium Art Gallery features four exhibits per year, focused on local artists and visual arts that address matters of faith. Each exhibit is curated with love, and introduced to the congregation through an Atrium Walk. We invite anyone to stop in during open hours and appreciate the talent God has given these artists! If you are an art lover, we encourage you to join the committee. (Contact us or see current exhibit information)

This group of ladies who are either single or widowed finds comfort and joy in each other’s company as they engage in outings and activities together.  See the calendar for gathering dates and event information or contact us to learn more.
